The Nursery

A huge part of our work at the Medicine Garden is getting people plant starts and seed to grow their own medicine. While medicinal plants are growing in popularity there are still some that are hard to come by. Plus, with our small-scale nursery devoting its energy exclusively to medicinals you can be sure that our plants were properly raised with an eye toward quality medicine and healthy plants. Below you will find a complete list of the plants we are offering in 2025. Note plants with asterisks are unavailable at the moment. Please feel free to contact us for the latest on availability.

To Order Plants: This season, pre-paid orders can be picked up in SE Portland, exact address still tbd. Updates are coming along soon to simplify the process. Seeds can be mailed for a $4 shipping fee. A complete availability list is at the bottom of the page.

Our First PLANT SALE is set for Match 21st AND the 22nd! For this two-day event, Friday from 10am to 2pm AND Saturday from 10am to 3pm, we will have so many Western and Chinese Medicinals that thrive in NW gardens! There will also be a great selection of seeds on hand, all gathered right here on the farm! (Check out medicine-garden.net/nursery for complete availability). All of our 4-inch containers are $6 and gallons just $15! There will be a reduced rate for cash payments. Medicine will also be on hand, from a selection of tinctures to dried plants, even stones gathered here in the NW. We will be serving tea, hanging out, and always excited to talk plants!

This year we will also have medicinal plants at Clary Sage Herbarium, SymbiOp Garden Shop, Garden Fever, Portland Nursery on Division, Livingscape Nursery, Linton Feed and Seed, Briar Patch Herbs and Hedgerow Herb Co! If you’d like to inquire about hosting plants at your shop, please let us know!
